Kasarmikatu 21

Helsinki, Finland

Kasarmikatu 21 is the name of the new office and commercial complex in the heart of Helsinki. On the site of a demolished government building, an impressive example of modern architecture has arisen, that inspired both outside and inside through the use of high quality materials: natural stone, timber and glass.

The subtle exterior façade made of Jura Travertin makes the building stand out in its surroundings. The light colour of the 3 cm thick mat honed Jura Travertin façade panels together with the large glass windows give the structure an elegant and timeless appearance.

The light and natural character of the limestone continues inside. Laid in 2 cm thick random lengths as flooring and installed as cladding on interior walls, the Jura Travertin in combination with timber and glass creates a uniform and stylish atmosphere in the public spaces.
